Is this really true? What about Hosea 6:1 "Come, and let us return unto Jehovah; for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up." Doesn't He sometimes hurt us for our own good - like a surgeon?
I love the way you challenge me and make me go deep into my ponderings – the love you have quoted is a perfect love – a love to which I certainly aspire – a love which is however not always seen or experienced in one another God is a magnificent surgeon, a wise teacher, a just corrector, and a wonderful healer – when He operates, there is no scar that remains. it is the wounding of man by man that I was thinking about when I wrote that – a wounding that occurs in darkness, evidenced in the light by a bruise –
thank you for reading my stumbling words and caring to comment – please extend me lots of grace as I learn how to communicate
