pillow moment

have you ever been unable to sleep
tossing and turning
thoughts whirling
emotions tumbling
and then in utter frustration
flipped your pillow
only to experience that aaaaaaaaaaaah moment
when your cheek comes to rest on the cool side of the pillow

in this dry, sandstorm of a season
there were moments yesterday
when my heart found the cool side of the pillow
